Lewiston, NY-The start to Artpark’s summer concert series, “Tuesday in the Park,” kicked off with a bang with Poison’s own front man, Bret Michaels, leading the charge. Bret is currently on the “Rock of Love’ tour in support of his solo CD “Rock My World,” which ironically dropped the same day as the show. Before Bret took the stage, his now famous security guard, Big John, gave an introduction warm-up to get the crowd pumped up. Bret took the stage at about 8:15 and kicked into Poison’s first hit “Talk Dirty to Me.” Accompanying Bret on this tour is Pete Evick on guitar, Robi Wylde on keyboards, Dirty Ray on bass and Lucky Chucky on drums, and they wasted no time before belting out the title track off Poison’s debut CD “Look What the Cat Dragged In.”

The crowd was unexpectedly dominated by a younger audience, no doubt due to the overwhelmingly successful VH1 Rock of Love series. Most of the night was surrounded by Poison hits, but three solo songs were played as well (“Driven,” “Bittersweet” and “All I Ever Needed.”) The songs were previously released on past solo efforts and are also included on “Rock My World” as well. A pair of covers were also thrown in to wet the fans appetite. Bret mixed it up all night between just singing, playing an acoustic guitar here and there, and breaking out the harmonica for the beginning of “Your Momma Don’t Dance.’
